The property is used year round and the lake provides entertainment both in the summer and winter months. The property is located to many snowmobile trails with access right from the front door. In the summer, the beautiful Fish River is accessible by kayak as well.

There is also a grill on the deck over looking the lake. Living room has a couch, chair, coffee table and fireplace. Enjoy direct access to the deck overlooking the lake for your morning coffee. Large bonus room with fire place, pool table, wet bar, tv, couch, glider & recliner. Lots of board games, coloring activities, DVD’s and small toys for the younger guests to use during their stay. Bathrooms: Double sink with a tub shower and toilet. Single sink with a large stall shower. A few rolls of toilet paper are provided in each for the beginning of your stay. A large laundry room with washer, dryer, sink and counter. Laundry soaps and dryer sheets are not provided however a few will be provided to start your stay. Enjoy the deck over looking the lake or just look out a window. A stair case on the deck leads to a screened in porch area with a few chairs to watch the sunrise/sunset. After the 8 children were raised, we transformed half of the second floor of our home into this 2-bedroom apartment. Besides the apartment space, all guests have full access to our downstairs living space, where there is a comfortable and quiet library for reading and our family living room for relaxing and/or watching movies. Guests may even use our family kitchen as long as you leave it clean with the dishes washed. We love to interact with and get to know our guests and so we open up the main living spaces of our entire home for use. Of course, if you prefer complete privacy within the apartment, we will respect your wish for whatever degree of privacy you may desire. Once you arrive, you will find a key for the apartment in the lock box. During your stay, you may enter through the main house or the private entrance at the back of the house which leads directly into the apartment. There is a door between the apartment and the main house that can be locked. Apartment features a full, spacious eat-in kitchen and partitioned bathroom with shower and tub (see photos). There is a private deck off the kitchen which is perfect for relaxing outside. The deck overlooks our 20-acre field, where you might see moose, deer, bears, or other wildlife. You will enjoy beautiful Aroostook County sunsets, a great view of the stars and Milky Way, and possibly even see the northern lights. Overall, the space can accommodate up to 5 people in 3 beds in 2 bedrooms, plus a small child in a crib. The master bedroom contains one full-sized bed and a crib, and the second bedroom contains one twin-sized bed and a full-sized pull-out sofa bed. For long-term guests, we can rearrange, add, or take away furniture to accommodate our guests' needs. For example, the second bedroom could easily become a designated living room by moving out the twin bed and moving in a chair or two and a coffee table. This would just need to be communicated to us. For larger groups, additional rooms are available to rent in the main house. Room #3 is on the second floor and has a full-sized bed and ample floor space for a cot, air mattress or sleeping bag. Rooms #1 and #2 are on the first floor. Room #1 has two twin-sized beds and Room #2 has a queen-sized bed. And if that isn't enough, we have a full-sized pull-out sofa bed in the library/music room on the first floor. Lake house on 2258 acre Portage lake! It is situated on a one acre lot with with 100’ of private lake frontage. Large lawn with fire pit and covered picnic table. Large wrap around deck that overlooks the lake. The perfect spot for your family vacation! This is a 3 bedroom house with a kitchen, dining room and a large living room. There is a second living room with a futon in the lower section of the house which has French doors that open to a large covered patio facing the lake. House has great WiFi service! TV in the main living room with streaming capabilities through a Roku. It has a full bathroom with tub and shower, a washer and dryer, a fully equipped kitchen with a standard sized gas stove with oven, a full size refrigerator and a microwave. There is currently no dock, however there will be a dock installed in May. The boat launch is just a mile down the road for easy access to the lake. There is a general store 2 miles away that also has a grill that offers great pizza, burgers, etc for those days when you just don’t want to cook! Just 2 miles down the road is the Fish River Entrance to the North Maine Woods giving you access to hundreds of miles of dirt roads to explore as well as access to Deboullie Public Land Preserve that offers 25 miles of hiking trails that weave you to and around spectacular ponds/lakes and mountains. Pack a backpack with your favorite lunch, swimsuit and towel as this makes a nice day trip from the house! Portage lakes is part of a five lake chain connected by Fish River affording you miles of river to canoe/kayak. This is snowmobile and ATV country!! Hundreds of miles of excellent riding is available on ITS trails right from the lake. The Portage lake area is an outdoor enthusiasts dream! For winter renters: While the driveway is a solid dirt driveway that we keep plowed, it is steep and you will NOT get in or out without chains and 4 wheel drive - for sure! There is no room to turn around a snowmobile trailer. That being said, there is a plowed spot at the top of the driveway, on the road, for parking but you’ll need to walk down the driveway the camp.
